Frank Marino - Reborn Jimi?

Born Francesco Antonio Marino in the 1954, Blues Rocker Guitarist - Frank Marino of a band he named himself after the vivid sensation of LSD effects " Mahogany Rush" is claimed by most people "REBORN" again as Jimi Hendrix !!!!

Never heard of this story ya? Yup ! That's why MSA blog is here to inform and educate you loyal MSA dudes of any and every guitar stories around ....so you can show off your knowledge in school or university or workplace and be proud of it.. ROTFL!!!!! 

Alrite Alrite..... I'll cut back to the story...

I have heard many stories of come back of great guitarist that experience near death in life. All the stories are about the same, a dude that don't play well , a nobody and suddenly some accident  happened and suddenly he can play like a Guitar God.

Ok, Frank Marino..... a nobody that is addicted to LSD like most hippies are at that era of 60's or 70's . Got too much and have to depend on hospital medical care to survive, and at that time while he was semi awake, he saw the spirit of Jimi Hendrix walk into his ward and jump right into his body, later the next morning he woke up and began to play the guitar just like jimi hendrix and don't even understand how or why?

Jimi Hendrix really in him? true or not i will choose to be true.

Coz i'm a person that like icings on the cake, it's more meaningful and exciting rather then the boring truth. 

Anyway true or not, Frank Marino's skill on the guitar is unbelievable, he shreds and influences many great guitarist such as The Mighty Zakk Wylde!!!!

Django Reinhart - 2 Fingers Shred??!!

It was about 8pm when all of the usual dudes of MSA will hang around in the lobby of MSA chatting and talkin' bout guitars and stuff, but that day was different. Django's music was on then the usual FM.
One of my friend ask, "This guy is pretty good". "This guy is Django!" WHO IS DJANGO?
To Me, Django is the father of all shred!
Born 1910, in Belgium ( The best place for Beer, i'm goin there with my dudes later in life, the mission is to test all of the beers around the country ..:) )
Jean " Django" Reinhart, invented The Gypsy Jazz Genre. 
One of the most high levels of shred i can say, the genre is simple.
1 Violin , 1 or 2 Guitars.
Violin plays melodies , guitar emulate the drums as for beat/groove. Guitar Shreds! from time to time.

He was a Banjo player before he dig guitar, after some accident of a burned house, he suffers from 3 degree burn and relearn to play the guitar , then HE SHREDS LIKE HELL WITH ONLY

The One i like most about him is his GUITARs... haha guitar freak alert!!!!

Frank Zappa - Original Genius

FRANK ZAPPA - What can i say about this heavy mustached man with a guitar? When i got to know him and his legacy. I salute him with all honors as a rocker/shredder/musician. He overshadowed me so much that i thought of letting music be my past. Of course not la, because of him. I knew what making music is all about, expressing what you have inside of you and share it proudly.
This man released over 60 albums in his music career in a band and also solo, which he wrote all the songs, design all the covers, direct all the videos. What??!! 60. man.........

 With his integrity of music he has become the villain in american society, he fought for censorship in music."You can't censor words.." he said.
He was a strident critic of mainstream education and organized religion, and a forthright and passionate advocate for freedom of speech, self-education.
What music he play?
1) Rock
2) Jazz
3)Fusion
4) Classical
5) Blues
6) Everything

The most interesting part is, he can mix all those genre into a collage of musical experience. Tons of musician influenced by him, even the Beatles. He got into the Rock N Roll hall of Fame in 1995 and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 after his death in 1993 of Prostate Cancer.
His childrens name are as creative as his work,
Moon Unit, Dweezil , Ahmet Emuukha and Diva Thin Muffin.
He does most of his recording and have Steve Vai working for him as a music transcriber and also Stunt Guitarist.

Freddie King - The Texas Cannonball

You guys might heard of BB King, yes a blues king. If you ask any one they might know him, famous. Albert King? ok, only 20 % of people answer yes to me. Freddie King? "who is that? which negara punya king? OMG, even some guitarist don't know about him. But also can't blame la, Freddie is not the famous one here. BB is. Ok, that's y i have this blog to introduce to you guys that missed one of Blues' greatest Guitarist of all time.FREDDIE KING. Rated 25th on the rolling Stone's Greatest Guitarist in the world. Also one of THE 3 KINGS in Blues.

He is also named "The Texas Canonball" , because of his size?
Famous for top hits like
"Have you ever Loved a Women" (not the Bryan Adams one,ok)
"Hide A Way Blues"
Also the first time i saw someone hang the guitar with his right shoulder only, normally we are taught to strap across, but he only hang there???
He was also the first to have a multi-racial band on stage performing on television and stuffs.

Born in September 3, 1934 Texas USA. Like any common blues artist's life, a hard one. Married during working on a steel mill. He have 6 children. Imagine that, so many to take care and you're on the road. Sure many problems. Died at the age of 42 of Heart failure.
His style was unique at that time, raw open tuning blues + screaming Chicago blues and a little favor from funk. Heros like SRV influence from him his signature hammer on and pull off style licks. He uses a thumb pick and his fingers to play the guitar hence result in aggressive and more creative impro than BB King & Albert King. Uses Gibson's with P-90 pickups.

14 albums , 20 years of Recording Life. He was rejected by Record companies a lots of time cause they said he was too much like BB King. But then proved to be one of Blues' Greatest Artist.

In 1993 by proclamation from the Texas Governor that  September 3, 1993, was declared Freddie King Day.
